HÃ Ná»I â Leaders of Cambodia, Singapore, Ukraine, the Democratic Peopleâs Republic of Korea (DPRK), Iran, Panama, Morocco and foreign parties have sent congratulations to General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyá» n PhÃº Trá»ng on his election as President of Viá»t Nam.
In his congratulatory letter, Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni expressed his belief that under the sound leadership of President Nguyá» n PhÃº Trá»ng, Viá»t Nam will reap greater successes and further prosper in the future as well as continue maintaining its important role in the region and the world.
He hoped that Cambodia and Viá»t Nam will continue to see thriving solidarity, friendship and co-operation at present and the future.
Meanwhile, Singaporean President Halima Yacob and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong stressed that Viá»t Nam and Singapore enjoy a fine relationship in all spheres, especially economy, finance, defence and security. They share a lot of common interests and coordinate closely in ASEAN and other multilateral forums.
The Singaporean leaders expressed their wish to work closely with President Trá»ng to seek ways to lift bilateral ties to new glory.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko wrote that the election of Nguyá» n PhÃº Trá»ng as President reflects the Vietnamese peopleâs high confidence in and recognition of his experience, leading capacity and great contributions.
He wished to soon meet President Trá»ng to discuss bilateral ties and international issues of shared concern, thus fostering the Viá»t Nam-Ukraine comprehensive partnership in a more intensive and practical manner.
Morrocan King Mohammed VI also sent a congratulatory message to Nguyá» n PhÃº Trá»ng on Wednesday. In this message, the Sovereign extended to Trá»ng his heartfelt congratulations and sincere wishes of full success in his mission to serve the friendly Vietnamese people.
President of the Presidium of the Supreme Peopleâs Assembly of the DPRK Kim Yong Nam expressed his belief that the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two nations will be developed and expanded in the time to come.
In addition, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Panama President Juan Cuarlos Varela Rodriguez and National Secretary of the French Communist Party Pierre Laurent cabled their messages of congratulations to the new President of Viá»t Nam.
Ambassadors of countries including Chile, the US, the UK, and Brazil to Viá»t Nam also sent congratulatory letters to President Nguyá» n PhÃº Trá»ng.
The 14th Vietnamese National Assembly on October 23 elected the Party leader Nguyá» n PhÃº Trá»ng as President of Viá»t Nam.
After the results of the vote were announced, the new President had a swearing-in ceremony, vowing to stay absolutely loyal to the nation, people, and the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Viá»t Nam, and to exert every effort to complete all missions assigned by the Party, State, and people. â VNS
